There’s no better time than #EarthDay to discuss environmental wins in the State Budget.

With $500M for clean water infrastructure & $400M for the Environmental Protection Fund, NY is ready to continue leading the nation in protecting the environment & fighting climate change.

We passed the State Budget over the weekend. 
This budget does the right thing and makes prudent investments for today and tomorrow.

We have just passed the FY2024-25 State Budget in the New York State Senate. 

Here are my initial thoughts.

Environmental advocates were out in force today in Albany to support the Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act and other critical environmental bills.
We're at a climate crossroads and need serious action to address our climate concerns!

Hundreds of public sector retirees were up in Albany today with a simple message: hands off our healthcare!

NY's housing crisis calls for responsible policies that keep NYers in their homes. Tenant protections are necessary to uphold basic rights of tenants and ensuring stability in our communities statewide.

It's about putting people first to keep their lives from being upended.

A very special thank you to Janet Harckham for hosting my campaign event yesterday afternoon. It was great to see everyone come out ready to go for 2024.

As we continue budget negotiations I am strongly insisting that these crucial water infrastructure dollars be restored in the final budget.
Now is not the time to cut clean water funding. We have come too far to move backwards now.

I am honored to have been endorsed by NYIC ACTION. I will continue to proudly fight on the behalf of our immigrant and historically marginalized communities to create a more equitable NY for everyone.

My bill establishing an integrated service for treating individuals dealing with medical conditions and substance use disorder passed unanimously in the New York State Senate yesterday. We have to get smarter in treating co-occurring conditions to get more NYers on the road to recovery.

The New York State Senate is still working on the state budget and just passed a budget extender bill. Here’s a little more information.

Bold action is needed to accelerate solar adoption. I introduced legislation to expand the solar tax credit & make it refundable for low-income families.
We need to provide opportunities for NYers to generate their own electricity & help working families lower their energy bills.
