Sunset is such a magical time in Antarctica, especially as they last for so long. Here is a compilation of some favourite sunsets taken on my fieldwork.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Repeat. The solstice is a powerful reminder of how much our world is driven by sunlight. This animation shows the "greenness" of Earth's landscapes over a 19-year period from 2000 to 2019 as seen by NASA's Terra satellite—launched nearly 25 years ago!

This is an incredible piece of work by Jonathan Pie. From the research, to the sequencing, to the performance. You want to know why so many people are turning away from vapid MSM and looking to political comedy & alternative news? Look no further. 👇

🐧❄️A recent SOOS CAPS publication examines how declining sea-ice, crucial for breeding and foraging, is impacting emperor penguin populations over the years. Findings by Peter T Fretwell show significant colony impacts due to early sea-ice breakup, with 29% of colonies affected

Antarctic sea ice extent is once more dipping towards a record low. As of yesterday we were missing 2.4 million Km2 of ice from the average extent, only slightly better than the all time low (of the satellite era), last year.

Close your eyes and picture Antarctica... Done? Guessing you didn't picture any plants. For the first time, plant life across Antarctica has been mapped - and that will be crucial to understanding how life in cold places will change with the climate 🌱 bas.ac.uk/media-post/fir…

After blocking access to the MacDonald Ice Rumples for almost three months, the A83 iceberg is finally on the move. But what impact it has had on the emperor penguins in the Halley colony has yet to be assessed.
