One of my biggest regrets is not taking a class with Helen Vendler at Harvard. Still, I learned so much from her critical works on Sylvia Plath and Seamus Heaney. Her books taught me how to read poems.

It’s early days, but I’m thrilled to announce that my novel, THE SCRAPBOOK, will be published next year by Pantheon Books. Set in Germany and Massachusetts, it’s a story about love, war, and the aftershocks of fascism.
