While it is almost feature complete, the animations are by no means finished.…

What does this leaderboard have in common with Pondsama battles? Not much, right?

Except, they are both powered by the Moonsama Battle Engine.

These days I have been wrapping my head around how to properly visualize Pondsama battles in all their complexity with reactive actions like passives triggering effects on damage received, with further chain reactions etc.

Traditionally, games like to display selection menus as boring Excel style tables. If they get adventurous, they may shift every second row. For the Pondsama team setup, I wanted something more exciting. And so the fish wheel was born.

In a rather unexpected turn of events, I found myself making combat animations for most of the skills in Pondsama. Let's have a look at how this works. 👀
