Daffodils on the monument in Gdansk to the Kindertransport, an organized effort to get kids out of Nazi-controlled territories and to place them in safe houses in Great Britain.

Illuminating visit to Emigration Museum in Gdynia to understand how war and poverty drove my grandmother's family to flee Poland (and then Hungary). This beautiful monument to all seafaring people, including emigrants, out front. Bless those who travel by boat & seek safe harbor.

The passing of Rev. Cecil Williams, a civil & LGBT rights pioneer and brother to Dr. Maya Angelou, deeply saddens us. His work at Glide Memorial Church and his support for equality have left a lasting impact. We mourn a hero and celebrate his legacy. 🕊️❤️ #CecilWilliams

As if grief hasn't already taken enough of my heart, the man who inspired and lifted me in some of the darkest times of my life... And I know he did this for thousands of others as well. What a life, what a joy, what a light.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Rev. Cecil Williams, a dear friend & incomparable moral & spiritual leader of the Bay area.

The Reverend changed the lives of millions through radical love, support, inclusivity, and a commitment to service to the most marginalized.
