In the past 36 hours, Russia has launched nearly 100 missiles attacking Ukraine’s water and energy supplies. With temperatures dropping, these attacks are particularly heinous. The United States remains committed to the victory of a sovereign and independent Ukraine.

Big achievement due to the work & commitment of Zambia's health workers and Ministry of Health Zambia. Through our global COVID-19 efforts, USAID was able to help support this progress. As one of our partners remarked, 'Our team went anywhere and everywhere to reach people.'

Russia's return to the Black Sea Grain Initiative is a welcome development. Among the ships currently moving via BSGI is this USAID-supported vessel on its way to Ethiopia, with food to feed 3 million people. BSGI plays a critical role in addressing widespread food insecurity.

Excited to share that we have officially submitted the instrument of ratification of the Kigali Amendment to the UN.

This will spur manufacturing jobs, strengthen U.S. competitiveness, and advance the global effort to combat the climate crisis.

Improving fertilizer accessibility & affordability is core to addressing the global food crisis. I met with the Board of the International Fertilizer Association to discuss working with USAID, including on expanding the fertilizer available for the world's smallholder farmers.

So energized after meeting USAID Program Officers as they gather together for the first time in years. These dedicated public servants are at the very center of our programming—nothing happens without their leadership, hard work, and ambition to drive progress around the world.
