The GOP wants you to think they're only coming for the zaniest college kid social media can rage-feed onto your timeline.

They are coming for public education. They believe your rights and your kids' future are worthy sacrifices for the wealth of their donor class.

No matter your views, politicians spent millions of dollars calling in troops to inflict violence against young Texans to break up... a poetry reading and a teach-in. These people are temperamentally unfit to handle any actual crisis. Texans deserve stronger leaders than this.

Statement from concerned UT faculty regarding the militarization of our campus and the mistreatment of our students.

We are want to announce the cancellation of the AfroLatinxs Now event. This decision comes in light of the recent situation at UT Austin, where students peacefully protesting in solidarity with Palestine have been met with force.

At UT Austin in response to the Palestine Solidarity Committee’s committee’s plans to occupy the South Lawn:

“UT Austin will not allow this campus to be ‘taken’ and protesters to derail our mission in ways that groups affiliated with your national organization have accomplished elsewhere.”

No one will lose their jobs, they said... We will simply rename divisions and move staff to other positions, they said... We didn't believe them and we were right not to.

1st faculty member fired under Texas SB 18 law to revoke tenure is a Black woman. Tenured African history associate professor, Dr. Mickie Mwanzia Koster, who’s been at UT Tyler since 2011, was fired with no just cause, no due process, no chance to respond to claims against her.
