Thanks for this important and groundbreaking work. And continuing to try to improve evidence requirements for FDA CDER approvals to protect patients.

Congrats on first RCT >10 yrs after ⁦⁦FDA/CDRH Industry⁩ approval. Should not be the last! It answers some questions, raises many more. No benefit in women. And would like to see longer term follow up, this trial started enrollment in 2013.⁩ statnews.com/2024/04/07/abi…

Grateful for the voices of Gregg Gonsalves & Cathy Collet on this STAT panel on U.S. FDA's role: 'Without robust confirmatory studies, Gonsalves feared the FDA was ceding its regulatory role in favor of a 'Yelp for drug development.'' statnews.com/2024/03/25/pat…

I’m no fan of Rep. Elise Stefanik but I’m with her here. Claudine Gay’s hesitant, formulaic, and bizarrely evasive answers were deeply troubling to me and many of my colleagues, students, and friends:

Great discussion of the importance of trial conduct and reporting free of bias and spin, to get right answers for patients.

This test is as or more likely to be dangerous than beneficial , and could even increase cancer rates because of all the CT scans it leads to, which Medicare will also pay for. Not a good use of taxpayer dollars. Can drive up Medicare premiums.

We need lower drug prices! There is no market operating in healthcare due to our patent system and other dysfunctional features. Prices often have no relation to value or R&D costs. statnews.com/2023/11/13/wei…

I find it remarkable and disappointing that one would do a trial of  taking people with CAD off their meds! I see no reason to ask this question and am surprised it would get IRB approval.  It is not a relevant clinical question.

Great piece in STAT on new research from Anika Kumar, Joseph Ross, Nisarg Patel, Vinay Rathi, Rita Redberg, and Sanket Dhruva. As the authors suggest, we need 'a more rigorous and inclusive approach to clinical research supporting FDA-authorized prescription digital therapeutics.”
