The AMRG have been making it blue this week in support of #WorldParkinsonsDay #MakeItBlue Parkinson's UK
This week the team have been wearing as much blue as we can! Whether that be at our offices at University of Bristol or at Research Institute for the Care of Older People when seeing our lovely PRIME Parkinson participants 💙👕
153,000 people currently live with Parkinson’s disease in the UK, and this is expected to rise to 172,000 by 2030 – it’s the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. On #WorldParkinsonsDay we're reflecting on the amazing research study PRIME Parkinson to innovate care.
'We're at a really exciting time in terms of research around dementia.' Dr Vanessa Raymont from @dementiasUK at University of Oxford explains why the Blood Biomarker Challenge we're taking forward with Alzheimer's Research UK is so important.
How can we reduce our risk of developing dementia? Some risk factors, like genetics, we can't change.
The good news is there are ways to boost brain health. A new Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences study found that diabetes, air pollution, and alcohol were the most harmful risk factors.
‘By learning what symptoms to look out for, we can better support each other.’ 💙
Ivan Toney, Kyle Walker, and Jarrad Branthwaite get a first-hand glimpse of some of the many physical challenges people living with dementia face.
