GMC has refused my FoI request: 'Please advise the source of the funds to be used to fight legal cases brought by the British Medical Association (BMA) and Anaesthetists United challenging GMC's regulation of PAs and AAs.' Please would someone else submit the same request?

It is very much part of the dumbing down of the service offered to patients using the NHS. I would not want a prescription for medication if I had not been assessed and diagnosed correctly and I would like all appropriate treatment ( not just medication) if that is appropriate

This is why the nhs needs to oppose the PA project from the top. Patients in clinics cannot be expected to assert their right to see a doctor. The power dynamics are such that it is unreasonable and unfair to expect patients to ask for a doctor. The system should protect us.

Exactly this. Let’s not pretend that ppl get labelled with ‘PD traits’ as a way to help them somehow. We all know there is very little support out there for ppl who have the full EUPD dx slapped on them. What possible help would ‘traits’ add? It’s a flag to other clinicians

The key thing missing here: There needs to be scrutiny before mass roll out of technologies and the ability to reflect and take decisive action, such as STOPPING using technology that causes patients distress or harm
