Today marks the 217th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Royal Navy personnel gathered aboard HMS Victory for the traditional Trafalgar Day service. Second Sea Lord Vice-Admiral Martin Connell laid a wreath on the Orlop deck where Admiral Lord Nelson died at the Battle.

The Brass Quintet of The Band of HM Royal Marines Plymouth provided musical support for a Trafalgar Night dinner at the wardroom of HMS Raleigh. They provided music throughout the night performing to officers and guests.

One of the nation’s most senior sailors will steer Jersey for the next five years after taking over as the island’s Lieutenant Governor. A Ceremonial Guard from HMS Iron Duke and a marching platoon from HMS Severn paraded in St Hellier. RM Band CTCRM provided the musical support.
