I have attended the White House Correspondents Dinner for the past two years. I decided not to attend today’s dinner (which, to be clear, is hosted by DC journalists not the White House) in solidarity with under-fire Palestinian journalists in Gaza who have called for a boycott.

Universities working off the same script:

1. Ignore the legitimate demands of the encampments

2. Point to pro-genocide students feeling “unsafe”

3. Ignore Jewish organizers and diversity within the encampments

4. Label the protests antisemitic

5. Unleash cops on protests

I visited the Gaza solidarity camp at Columbia yesterday and wanted to share a few
very brief observations.

First, it's one of the most highly organised student protests I've ever seen. They have media and de-escalation training, a nutzone to protest students with allergies.

I did hear 'kill the Jews,' said by a counter-protester holding an Israeli flag, seemingly as a provocative joke in response to the group's pro-Palestine chants. Not sure if that's the specific incident Northeastern U. leadership is referring to
