Last minute intervention by the Treasury led to slashing of the best value bit of transport budget. A long day in court but so worthwhile to get the truth out! theguardian.com/politics/2024/…

Get out and vote this Thursday.

Which candidate for Mayor would give the best offering for cycling?

Also it's the PCC elections! The strategic direction of the police, in terms of how they deal with close passes in Nottinghamshire, could be influenced.

Harry Wallop RideLeicester I run Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo at same time to maximise orders. Takes some management, but achievable. You'd never make £10/hr running just one app. Wait times at pickup locations alone and between orders are too long. I do £10/hr running 3 apps on a good evening.

for - it's vital to have a mayor who prioritises and to solve our traffic woes, doesn't just tinker with space for cars.

You can read all about my week being a Deliveroo rider in today’s Mail. Why many riders are in revolt and who’s ordering £4 billion worth of food every year.

So why is the pay so terrible? (Apart from the lack of tips!)
Well, Deliveroo’s “at least minimum wage” claim is while you are on a job. It doesn’t take into account the wait for orders. And, in simple terms, there’s too many riders.
And, yes, you can earn extra pay at 3am

I spent a week as a Deliveroo rider. And learnt a lot.
First up, Deliveroo likes to claim you should earn at least the minimum wage of £11.44 while working. Me?
I worked for 22hrs 50mins, rode 105 miles, did 27 drop offs and earned £120.38.
That works out at £5.28 an hour🧵
