So many people tying themselves in knots to find ways to 'Save the Planet' when the simplest, most obvious & most effective tactic to slow climate change would be to take heat out of the global economy & buy less environmentally hungry, rescource hungry, consumer shit instead.

A badger protection group has underlined its public comfort with millions of people dying of TB - world's most inefectious disease. What's in their heads? If death result of infection it also avoidable. So for preservation of as many lives as possible TB infection must be curbed.

Tried to read John le Carre's 'Spy Who Came In From The Cold'. Could not get past first chapter. Writing dreadful. Have since picked up 'The Night Manager'. Its startlingly good. Can't put it down. How can two novels by same author be so radically different?

I had the pleasure of guiding Dr. Pat Morris on a wildlife tour in Slovenia some years ago. We had some excellent chats about hedgehogs & badgers. He was forthright on the issue.
