Today is a public holiday in Poland celebrating the anniversary of the constitution adopted on 3 May 1791.

It is generally considered Europe's first modern constitution and the world's second (after the US Constitution, which went into force two years earlier)

On April 13, 1943, the world learned about the Katyń massacre carried out on 🇵🇱 prisoners of war on the orders of the Soviet authorities.
