The Stage 1 Debate of my bill - Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) is starting now.

I am proud to have the support of MSPs from all parties, and hope that we can all stand together to send the strongest possible message.

MSPs are to debate plans at Holyrood today to introduce buffer zones at abortion clinics.

The proposal from Central Scotland Green MSP Gillian Mackay MSP will introduce 200m protest-free zones.

Gay people being able to kiss or hold hands in public was “gay ideology.”

Gay couples getting married was “gay ideology.”

Gay parents being allowed their children was “gay ideology.”

It’s painful how “ideology” is used to describe and dismiss the rights of marginalised groups.

I spent 5 years as an opposition MSP being told this every time we voted against the SNP govt. That session ended with a record high election result for the Greens.

Those who think Green votes come from SNP tactical voters are badly misjudging our voters & ignoring Scottish Election Study 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🗳️

The Scottish Greens' confidence in the First Minister was based on the Bute House Agreement, a progressive policy programme he chose to end, losing our support. What is Scottish Government's policy platform now? We all, inc SNP members worried about a lurch to the right, deserve to know.
