As this Workers Day comes to an end, thinking about all the women in Afghanistan who have been shut at out of paid work by the Taliban, at risk to their independence, dignity, health, safety, and lives. And them and all the women everywhere doing unpaid work.

These businesses have been built off the backs of migrants' labour. Workers should be offered a path to citizenship, not driven further into the shadow economy where they will exploited even further than they already are. They were called heroes during the pandemic, what changed?
