Recently I learned that the act of sending your friends & family little videos and tweets and memes you find online itโ€™s called pebbling, like how penguins bring pebbles back to their little penguin loved ones ๐Ÿฅน

Since people wanna gatekeep whats not theirs: Usually exclusive to Black women CEOs, I will be opening free spaces for women aged 35-45 who suspect they are autistic. Together with Black Psychologists, weโ€™ll navigate the DSM digitally.

You know how, in Renaissance times, reading & writing were separate skills and not everyone learned both? That's like me with thoughts & language. I can sometimes do both, and sometimes only think, not talk.

powerlessness makes us underestimate our impact and contribution

it makes us forget we do have power. we do have responsibility. and we are always, whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, affecting others

A whole part of being neurodivergent is slowly, painfully recreating neurotypical/normative social boundaries without the sensory profile they're based on.

I.e. learning when people have an expectation of privacy simply because their hearing is weaker than yours.

'Some neurodivergent people are useful actually! But others aren't ๐Ÿฅบ'

I am once again begging society in general to stop ranking people by their labour efficiency. We are human beings not factory equipment.

And again. Fresh lovely research here. Autistic people can communicate really well together and can really enjoy the experience. So where is this 'deficit' of communication skills as per the ancient 1940s/1950s myths, eh?
Is your team still living in the last century?

You know what we need?

A name for the specific form of complex trauma you develop if you grow up unaware that youโ€™re .

Every person I talk to has the same basic pattern to overcome. It looks like this:

'Asking someone to love you righteously, unconditionally, and intentionally is a beautiful invitation inward. And their readiness to do so โ€” or their decision not to โ€” was never your burden to carry.'

Itโ€™s important to talk about this distinction. It shows how people in power purposely create rules and laws that give them discretion, and they can use that discretion to harm you or even create a narrative of lawlessness or โ€œbreaking the lawโ€. /4

What do you look for in a new job?

A headhunter reached out. They have a role that would really suit me & give me some new kinds of experience. The pay might even be better. But I really, really like my current employer.

How do you think about things like this?

We always complain about hearing 'you don't look autistic' but what about the equally devastating 'oh. That tracks...'
