To achieve climate justice, the countries who emit the most CO₂ must compensate the lower emitting nations, calculated Andrew Fanning (also @andrewlfanning.bsky.social) of Earth & Environment and Jason Hickel.

The top emitters are the US, Germany, Russia, the UK and Japan.
