Farmers across Shropshire have had a tough time of it lately and are in desperate need of a government that backs British farmers.

Lots of chat of online about possible Tory wipe out at the General Election.

Fun if it happens but they miss a key point.

Lots of talk of polls & demographics but the level of local challenge is crucial. Do the nearest opposition have the money, manpower and data to beat them.

They are far from perfect, but since privatisation our railways have become safer and more popular than ever before. We need investment in our rail infrastructure, new lines, new stations, and build HS2+. Nationalisation is just a gimmick.

We need UK legislation to enable recovery of wealth and assets held by individuals or companies which result from the historic slave trade and other colonial crimes, where a burden of proof can be met. In the meantime, Drax must return the land back to Barbados.

Have either of the two main parties considered that politics isn’t a game to disadvantaged kids in schools who underperform or for the SEND children who can’t access equitable provision.

Maybe I’m naive, but politics should be about improving lives not petty point scoring.

Shropshire Council tried to make £50m of cuts last year and wants to make a further £60m this year, with residents facing higher Council Tax and fewer services.

I asked the Minister to review the funding formula and help save services in counties like ours.

👏Great to see House of Lords scrutiny of why Serco Group was awarded public contracts despite being under a Serious Fraud Office (SFO) deferred prosecution agreement after defrauding Ministry of Justice.
