Up first, Sarah Ahannach who started the Isala project in her PhD, presented her more recent work of an Isala daughter project GeneDoe. She looks at microbial and seminal traces of sexual intercourse in the vagina and underwear! #sexualassault
Monica Ticlla couldn't join in person, but we happily presented her poster on VTOOL, a tool to increase representation in low- & middle-income countries in vaginal microbiome research. Monica is involved in our Laura in Peru and the themarieproject_ch in Switzerland 💪.
Isala teammember Leonore Vander Donck presented the female intimate microbiome, where we studied the microbiome of the groin skin, the skin around the breasts and skin around the mouth. Surprisingly, we found typical vaginal lactobacilli on the breasts! #intimacy #skinmicrobiome
Sandra Condori is our Isala post-doc in charge of our #isalasisterhood projects! She presented data on the sisterhood project in Peru, Laura ! How to improve representation in vaginal microbiome research 💪
