Delighted to meet my friend Harbakhsh Grewal today, who was in London with his Mum to attend the Buckingham Palace garden party, after receiving a BEM in the New Year's Honours. Good weather for it. Some fine hats.

This documentary by the fantastic Liz Carr is going to be a game-changer (and I'm not just saying that because I'm in it): radiotimes.com/tv/documentari…

Reminds me of the time John Major, in similar electoral difficulty, said ‘When your back’s to the wall, you’ve got to turn around and fight.’ Advice that would lead to you fighting a wall.

The set for tonight's excellent Drop the Dead Donkey play. All the regulars on great form, like seeing old friends again. Especially Dimbles, and the plimsole.

Strong GB News vibe - & not just in the set design.

These are not just migrants, they are asylum seekers who have not had their claims processed. They are potentially being deported to a country which is unsafe for asylum seekers but which Parliament has said by law is 'safe'.

And clearly being used for party political purposes

This is what happens when there's a dead heat in a Lords vote. Usually the winning side would send their whip up to the Woolsack with the result. As no side won the Clerk took the result up. The Dep. Speaker consulted the Standing Orders on the words to use. 'VAR', says a Peer.

Two dead heats in the Lords this afternoon, which is unusual. Tied votes on amendments to the Victims & Prisoners Bill. In these situations the amendments are not carried, as there isn't a majority in favour of them.

Sorry to hear of the death of Lord Stunell, who served as faith minister in the first two years of the coalition government.

Some extremely good points & worth reading. But I disagree with you Josh Glancy that a law change is inevitable. It isn't - we always have choices. It's the intention of those strident campaigners you mention, with their PR & polls, to pretend the future is already written.
