As we round off the week, we want to reassure you that the UK government’s proposed changes to fit notes and PIP are just proposals.

They aren't coming into effect now and are subject to consultation. 1/6

With all the ongoing misinformation about PIP, here's a thread with the facts.

Disabled people face unavoidable extra costs on average, £975 per month, that's after receiving PIP (if eligible).

PIP is supposed to help offset these extra costs.

I believe around 25% of car manufacturing is made up by the Motability Scheme; I wonder if the impact of this has been factored into the proposed reforms, and, more importantly, the impact on people's independence. 🚗

I'm now starting think that the government believe if you work, you don't need PIP. But guess what, you're still disabled even if you work and you still face extra costs. They don't all magically disappear, in fact they can increase! 🤦🏽‍♀️

What is the disability price tag?

Jameisha here to explain...

There’s lots in the news about Personal Independence Payment (PIP). PIP is designed to offset the extra costs of disability. But it doesn’t cover what disabled people need to achieve an equal standard of living.
