It's going to be a chilly week with temperatures around 3-6°C below the average.

West was definitely best yesterday if you wanted some spring warmth

However, it was still winter around the North Sea coasts with a huge 13°C lower temperature...

Unlikely.

They’ve been doing it for years and theoretically adds 15-25% extra rain. Very hard to prove on the ground but even take 25% off, it still would have been >yearly rainfall.

Sunny spells and April showers today.

Still chilly in the wind which will be quite blustery, but not as windy as yesterday.

It was proper weather bingo yesterday...wind, rain, hail, thunderstorm, sunshine, 'tornado'.

We've had a couple of reports of possible tornadoes in to TORRO (Tornado & Storm Research Organisation) this morning, including this

I've looked into the archive...the last time we had a big area of high pressure (drier weather) dominant over the UK was early January!

It'll make a welcome return at the end of the week but devil is in the detail in terms of cloud, sunshine and temperature.

Watch out for nasty conditions on the roads this morning with a band of heavy rain spreading SE.

Behind it, we've got showers with sleet/hail and hill snow. Odd thunderstorm too ⚡️
