It was an absolute pleasure to welcome volunteers, guests and interested members of the public to the Skylark IX Recovery Trust AGM yesterday evening.

Three of the armada of 'little ships' which brought the men of the BEF, from the shores in and around Dunkirk, to the safety of British warships and other vessels.

Skylark IX was a Sweeney's boat on Loch Lomond for 40 years, a major part in our story, and we've created a whole panel featuring Sweeney's in our brand new Skylark Tapestry

One of our stitchers on the new Skylark Tapestry wrote

'During Covid, I felt very isolated. Working on the Tapestry and meeting new people has helped my mental health. I've also enjoyed watching others growing in confidence with their stitching and seeing the Tapestry progress'

Started just as we were coming out of Lockdown in 2021 & conceived as a way to combat loneliness and bring people together in a supportive and sociable setting. We're really proud of the positive impact the project's had and blown away by the quality of the finished work.

We launched our beautiful new 12 panel 'Skylark Tapestry' on Tues night, which tells some of our Dunkirk Little Ship's stories

Funded by Scottish Government Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund, made by a wonderful group of West Dunbartonshire folk, led by artist Suzanne Magpie Maison
