Traffic lights problem this morning at 6.30 Hounslow Council Hounslow Police TfL Jambuster the phasing was off on the lights controlling the lights for the Spur road and A310 with traffic already queueing. Not sure if it has or can be fixed remotely. Or who to report it to?

Eventually, in Jan 2023 (& following media interest), authorities finally acted. Closing down the site was reasonably simple in the end: a Restriction Order from Magistrates & a couple of concrete blocks. The question now is why this wasn’t done before the woods were destroyed?

I was nominated for this award by National Park City Mark and David Cope. I'm grateful to both of them and the whole team at London National Park City*, without whom I would've have had the opportunity to share and promote the Nature Reserves of London map in 2019!

On the 26.2.23 and the 26.3.23 there were 2 huge community volunteer efforts to clear tonnes of rubbish from the Silk Stream area of the Welsh Harp SSSI. At that point, this pile was easily accessible from the estate hoardings, and Barnet Council were meant to collect it.

Also, pretty sure using pesticides next to a waterbody let alone an SSSI is illegal Natural England Environment Agency Not sure if this is First Port or Barnet, but all over Barnet this week there are signs of its unmitigated use, tree pits, park entrances, on a drain!

Cynically, one wonder's has the rubbish been left, have the INNS been allowed to take over because Barnet Council and Barratt Homes are waiting to destroy this previously publicly funded wet woodland with an unecessary bridge that nobody wants. cooloakgroup.com/ourcampaigns/s…

It's not good enough Barnet Council, volunteers have worked tirelessly to clear rubbish from these areas, and you can't even pick it up. This lack of support and that we constantly have to chase, is exactly why we burn out.

Very surprised today by the felling of 26 trees at Highcliffe St Mark’s school.
The evergreens had been a feature for decades. They'd provided a privacy screen & sunshade for kids using the roadside playground, & a good carbon screen from cars.
The felling seems needless.
