Onchocerciasis Tecnical Advisory Group (TAG), held an in-depth meeting to discuss about the disease, and planned its activities. They had benchmarked from countries that were/are Oncho endemic as this will guide Ministry of Health VBNTD unit and partners eliminate the disease in Kenya.
The Government has declared that an estimated six million Ugandans are no longer at risk of onchocerciasis (commonly known as River Blindness) including about two million people living in the Lake Victoria Nile focus areas.
