My motto for this training cycle for TCS New York City Marathon: ONE DAY AT A TIME

The doping crisis in our sport is disheartening. As a fan it’s hard to know what to believe. As an athlete it’s hard to know who’s beating you clean. When an athlete fails a drug test, they steal moments from other competitors. We need change, accountability & lifetime bans.

We’ve had some good times and fierce battles Aliphine Tuliamuk. Let’s keep it rolling a few more weeks into TCS New York City Marathon!

Sometimes it’s difficult to fully describe what marathon training is really all about. Then I look around and realize I’m sitting in my car post workout eating white rice out of a Tupperware waiting to go into my massage. And I think “you’ve really nailed it.”

In the midst of all the MLB madness lately just throwing a potential idea out there to races and World Marathon Majors… walk up songs for your front line of pros? Typically races spotlight and introduce 5-10 athletes so let them pick their 10 second jam song.

Successful morning at Snohomish River Run. Picked up the win in 1:11:45, paced by Ben Bruce and 21 miles on the morning to keep the NYC marathon prep rolling. Coaches had me run an up tempo 6 mile warm to simulate tired legs plus the 100 mile week. Back to Flagstaff!

Des I feel you. Last Friday Aliphine Tuliamuk said “ hey we only have 4 intervals. I said yeah but each interval is a 5K.” 🥵

Race directors, here me out. Instead of giving out another t-shirt as swag, bathrobes. Super cushy bathrobes that you give out at the finish line instead of mylar blankets. I feel like Stephanie Bruce world be on board for this.
