Camila Batmanghelidjh dedicated her life to advocating for the most vulnerable children, especially those who fell through the gaps in social & NHS services. She was a force of nature. A world changer. Camila’s legacy will live on in each life touched by her kindness and love.

My dear friend Camila Batmanghelidjh has died today. I’ll forever be grateful for her wisdom & depth of love for children. Equally, for all she contributed to my understanding as well as to Oasis since 2015 & the untimely, unjust closure of Kids Company. With endless thanks🙏

As Sir Martyn Oliver steps up to become Ofsted’s boss, it was good to hear him explain that the organisation faces “an existential moment” and though its task is to ensure high standards in schools, it must be 'far more empathetic'. A new year, a new boss, a new day - let’s hope!

The proposal that not all teachers need Maths GCSE or equivalent is simply common sense. Do all teachers need grade 4 in French or music or geography or dance or history? What every teacher needs is great qualifications in their subject, a passion to teach + a love for children.

Two nations traumatised by the suffering they have endured through the centuries. Two nations responding with unbelievable levels of brutality to one another out of their traumatised history. Two nations who equally need our recognition, but never our blessing for their violence.

Loved this, earlier this yr, from BishopSarah of London, on her support for same-sex relationships.

I do get tired of people trying to discredit our faith by saying that we are “leftists” or “communists”… not because it hurts my feelings but because it just feels like lazy hubris and sloppy hermeneutic.

The way I understand it, one of the challenges of the Christmas story is to use my openings to work to secure inclusion for the excluded, to use my freedoms to bring liberty to the oppressed, and to use my voice to ensure those who have been unheard are given voice.
