By the power vested in me, I choo choo choose Wellington as the next recipient of New Zealand's housing crown (1st Christchurch after earthquake rebuild, 2nd Auckland after Unitary Plan, 3rd Hutt City after early voluntary upzoning, and now Welly).

Would you look at that - having comparatively affordable housing is a strategic advantage for the University of Canterbury/Christchurch, in terms of attracting more students

Rebecca's right and I'd make two extra comments:
1) upzoning Kilbirnie enabled much more housing capacity than was lost via the heritage listings; and
2) the Minister's decision on heritage listings suggests it's a procedural problem rather than a strategic one.

Glass 3/4 full.

Led to believe the first photo is joey🦫's house in Roseneath or somewhere similarly Scandinavian. Pretty flat site for that part of town.
