Some before and afters of our amazing project at Galashiels Academy in the girls toilets. Working with young people who designed, prepped and painted the toilets over the Easter holidays they have breathed new life into the space and learnt some amazing skills in the process.

👀 We are looking for people interested in joining our board of trustees.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who are under 40, minority groups and women as we seek to ensure the broadest representation is on our board, however all are welcome.

We spent our final day in London with more exploring including some shopping on Oxford Street, visiting Drake at Madam Tussauds and Piccadilly Circus.

Young people commented how much this had been a life changing experience for them and how different life was compared to Gala

Day 2 of our residential to London was about exploring cultures, looking at differences from home & seeing some of the sights
We visited the classic sights, along with exploring Chinatown & taking in some history
We even managed to squeeze in some shopping!

Some of our young people are away on a residential with Yipworld and other young people from across Scotland and Northern Ireland at Dumfries House for “It’s a Small World” project
Gaining new experiences and creating memories which is increasing their confidence levels.

We can’t wait to get the finished results, but it’s been amazing working with these fabulous young people giving up their time on their Easter holidays to make things better for their peers 👏🏻

Young people from Oasis Youth Centre arrived at Dumfries House today! Joined by groups Yipworld TD1 Youth Hub Escape Youth Services YouthAction Northern Ireland Over the next 3 days we’ll learn more about what it’s like to live as a young person in East Ayrshire.

February has been a great month, we’ve taken part in some amazing opportunities from graffiti art, our walks, fires and crafts.

It’s been a busy start to 2024, we have been working on doing some gaming work within our coding group, lots of cool graffiti work and getting out and about in the minibus.
Along with all our usual drop-in, streetwork, young parents, 1-1 work, school youth work, etc

We were visited by Santa today, popping into our Young Parents Group to spread some festive cheer before the big day!

Was great to be invited to the Scotch Whisky Association Annual Learning Conference today and do a presentation about some of the work the Scotch Whisky Action Fund have supported us with. Great opportunity to also learn from others in the sector about the exciting work being done.
