Unless it's a week with a new Star Wars or Marvel episode drop, Disney+ originals viewing is now more embarrassing than AppleTV+ viewing.

Because Iger agreed to that ridiculous minimum value as part of the Hulu transition deal with Comcast after he overpaid for the Fox assets.

Yet another bad late teens decision by Iger!

While it's likely that Disney & Charter come to an agreement that more or less preserves the status quo, I'm still hoping for the threatened video business walk away by Charter to happen.

It would be so much more fun on Twitter.

Bob talks a good game for someone whose company's market cap is below $9b today, and owes the NFL ~$2b this season, and every season, for the next decade.

“It’s not clear if this is a moment that gets resolved quickly — and we are back to having an industry that is in secular decline … or whether this is a more meaningful moment'

a more meaningful moment = a cascading extinction level event

No mention of revenue or profits in this PR boast, of course. There never is for any Free Ad Supported TV (FAST).

On the plus side, Fox incinerated far less cash on Tubi than they would have with a paid streaming business.

If reporting is accurate that

Charter's position is 'We'll accept the price increase if you let us bundle your ad supported SVOD services for free'

Disney's position is 'OK, but you can't get the SVOD services for free'

Then it's just a matter of price.
