Direct support is a great idea.
The care industry has some wonderful people employed - and despite that, by its very nature, it both perpetuates and relies on poverty and suffering. However unintended, making money off misfortune is the cycle of suppprt- industry interdependence.

Some PWD & youth offenders locked up indefinitely but known criminals not because they are immigrants? Govt spent $13 million managing cases incl. assistance to those released- accommodation costs, law enforcement fees, electronic monitoring devices. Scary
