Have you ever wondered why NPPs have such wide chimneys?

Well they're not chimneys. They are cooling towers. NPPs produce vast amounts of heat but use only about half of it. These big towers release heat by EVAPORATING๐Ÿ’ง

These chimneys-like towers release steam not radiation๐Ÿคฏ

The winter solstice โ„๏ธ will occur tonight at 12:57 AM AEST giving us the shortest day of the year across Australia.

From here onwards the days will start to become longer, and nights shorter!

Happy Winter Solstice!

'God does not play dice with the universe' is one of the most famous quotes attributed to Albert Einstein, who used it to express his dissatisfaction with the concept of quantum mechanics. The phrase was used by Einstein in response to a letter from the German physicist Max Born.โ€ฆ

It was nice to see scientists turn their studies into a funny standup comedy. This is what I like to learn and to do properly.
Great show tonight. Well done, all.
