Today, we’re expecting to hear of a drastic reduction in future active travel funding from the Scottish Government. See here for current spending, obtained from our recent FoI enquiry bit.ly/4cjTwEa
Transport is Scotland's most polluting sector. 🚗🌬️🌬️🌬️ The Scottish Government is way behind on climate but instead of redoubling efforts in this area- it is ditching its 2030 climate commitments. Really important analysis from Transform Scotland 👇
Finance Secretary Shona Robison MSP has just announced cuts to resource spend on sustainable and active travel. Yet despite acknowledging that Scottish Government “cannot afford all of our capital commitments”, it has decided to make *no* cuts to its multi-billion pound road-building

Today: £500m cuts to Scottish public services, with sustainable & active travel a major loser. Two months ago: £185m contract let to an English company for new road-building: transport.gov.scot/news/next-mile… Yes, there's choices to be made in public spending priorities. But Scottish Government

Some interesting speakers, presentations and debates at #CPTScotCon24 as we Transform Scotland focus on bus priority across Scotland and how we tackle the lack in funding 🚌
We're deeply saddened to hear that jobs in Scotland's bus manufacturing sector are at risk. It's imperative that Scottish Government ensures its investment in zero-carbon buses benefits Scotland's economy rather than overseas economies. alexander-dennis.com/uneven-playing…
Strange omission for the Green Industrial Strategy to not prioritise transport given it's the largest source of climate emissions. Perhaps if Scottish Government took greater care in supporting existing Scottish bus manufacturing capacity, Alexander Dennis wouldn't be considering severe job cuts.
