The way I read it: Department of State is still winging it on the fly, not winging it good enough, and making excuses. They clearly don’t want to be held accountable, or provide transparency. We need the #AfghanAdjustmentAct now, to install a designated Task Force for oversight.

Germany has been a literal lifesaver for many #AfghanAllies who have been shut out by USCIS delays, denials & endless bureaucracy. I am profoundly grateful for what the German system has done to expedite the asylum process for folks I know. The US govt should take notes.

I’ve now heard from 3 people today each sharing news that someone they’ve been trying to help evacuate out of Afghanistan has been killed by the Taliban. Sometimes the outage may seem like hyperbole but it rarely is. These are real ppl in real danger.
