According to the DTM/IOM, almost half of those displaced due to the conflict in Cabo Delgado📍are children 👶🏽.

In Maratane Refugee Settlement, Nampula 📍, UNHCR and partner INAR (The Government Agency for Refugees Assistance) provided hygiene items to some 2,500 refugee and host community women in August.

For those forced to flee their homes with only the clothes on their backs, household items are amongst their priority needs.

Seeing such a smile after receiving UNHCR items, invigorates humanitarian workers committed to people in need in northern Mozambique 📍.

UNHCR partner HelpCode invited community volunteers to discuss about early marriage prevention with displaced men in Cabo Delgado 📍.

Mozambique has one of the highest rates of early marriage in the world.

Most survivors seeking support from UNHCR´s #GenderBasedViolence services are experiencing intimate partner violence.

Thus, UNHCR is increasing efforts for community led prevention and support by training community Protection volunteers in Montepuez, Cabo Delgado📍.

UNHCR and #PSEA Network supported capacity building to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse in Cabo Delgado📍.

This successful training was for #PSEA focal points on assistance for survivors of sexual exploitation and abuse.

In Niassa, UNHCR and partner ActionAid Mozambique distributed core relief items to 128 households affected by #CycloneGombe 🌪️and conflicts in Cabo Delgado.

The distribution was also attended by the Secretary of State for Niassa, Mr. Dinis Chambiuane Vilanculo.

UNHCR, Norwegian Refugee Council + IOM Mozambique, participated in an inter-agency humanitarian training on the management of internal displacement, protection mainstreaming + achievement of durable solutions, for the Emergency Operations Center + DRR Committee in Cabo Delgado.

Since December 2020, UNHCR and UCM provided legal assistance and access to civil documentation to 24,038 IDPs and host community members in Cabo Delgado 📍.
