After the trophy presentation, I had a chance to speak with the newly-crowned USF Juniors champion Nicolas Giaffone from DEForce Racing here at COTA.

We're less than 20 minutes from the start of the second USF Pro 2000 race here at COTA, and the temp is a significantly-cooler 80F trackside. The high is still forecast for 106F-plus midday, so the second and third USF Juniors races are still going to be extremely tough.

Here's my quick Discount Tire Race Recap from Saturday's USF Pro Championships action in Texas as we head into Sunday's schedule, which includes a race for USF Pro 2000 and the final two events of the season for USF Juniors.

In USF Juniors, Nicolas Giaffone will secure the championship and the Discount Tire Scholarship for USF2000 in 2024 by simply starting Race 2. He'll only need the three points from taking the green to build an insurmountable 33-point lead, as he'd win a tie-breaker of race wins.

As we head into today's USF Pro Championships races at Circuit of The Americas today, calculations have confirmed that Myles Rowe will not be able to clinch the USF Pro 2000 title today. The championship fight will move to the Race Portland next weekend. It's not over yet.

I love seeing drivers 'testing the waters' for 2024. Mac Clark impressed in USF Juniors in 2022 enroute to the title, and broke through to win in his debut USF2000 weekend in Portland last September. We'll see how he fares at COTA, ahead of a potential rookie USF Pro 2000 effort.

How good was this overtake in T5 at Road America? A decisive move by Jack Jeffers. The racing in the USF Juniors series was just epic this past weekend.

It's great to see Bianca coming back to USF Juniors after her time in the W Series and F1 Academy. I'm really looking forward to see how she performs at COTA and hopefully we'll see her in the series full-time in 2024.

Based on my calculations, Nicolas Giaffone needs to score 75 points (388 total) over the next four races to clinch the USF Juniors title. Current second-place driver Quinn Armstrong could get to 387 points should he garner max points of 33 at the final four races.

One of the stars of the USF Juniors weekend at Mid-Ohio was VRD's Hudson Schwartz. The 14-year-old earned his first career pole and second podium finish. I sat down with Hudson to record a new podcast on Friday.
