70 years ago, a jet-lift aircraft built by our long-time partner Rolls-Royce was the first to fly in the world.

Now University of Nottingham Engineering students have built a replica of the 'Flying Bedstead' using using modern methods such as 3D printing.

A working replica of Nottinghamshire’s ‘Flying Bedstead’ has been built by third year engineering students to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its first flight. Did you know that Nottinghamshire is the birthplace of vertical jet lift technology?
