#5 - Strasburg (Strasburg Rams Football) didn't flinch from a 15-6 half-time deficit against Bull Run District rival Luray. Behind QB Ryan Roller, the Rams rallied for a 26-23 win that gives them the inside track on the top spot for the Region 2B playoffs. Showed lots of resolve.
#4 - Don't look now, but the Bassett Bengals (Bassett Football) have recovered from the 0-2 start by winning six straight, none more thrilling than a 50-43 OT win over GW-Danville. First win over GW - in 13 tries - since 1963! Offense is putting up 49.3 PPG during the streak.
#3 - The 'whoa' score of the night to me came from Hanover's (Hanover Hawks Football) 41-13 triumph over Patrick Henry-Ashland. Like what Sam Rogers has done in a short amount of time at the helm of his alma mater. Hawks are trending upward.
#2 – Can't say enough about the job Trey Taylor (Coach Taylor) and his staff at Fairfax (@FairfaxLionsFB) have done. Their 29-14 road win at Lake Braddock is beyond impressive considering the Bruins were averaging 48.9 points per game & previously 6-0 all-time in the series.
