Pregnancy weakens immunity to #malaria , heightening risks for the mother and the baby. Untreated malaria can lead to severe complications like maternal death and low birth weight.

It is #WorldMalariaDay , Malaria is the cause of 249 million clinical cases and 608,000 deaths globally. The WHO African Region reports the highest-burden with over 94% of cases and 580,000 deaths. In 2023 alone Malawi reported 6.4 million malaria cases woth a total of 1670 deaths.
