Today, we officially launched the Green Schools project at Kinyampanika Primary School that is rolled out in 35 schools in the Rwenzori sub-region. Mrs Biira Terrevina is one of the Women that are taking lead in pushing the conservation agenda around Rwenzori Mountains National Park. With other women, they are engaged in planting trees along the buffer to protect the natural forest and park. Big ups !!!

Parliament has repealed the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center Act, 2015 in a move that will see UWEC merged with Uganda Wildlife Authority, while MPs also amended the Uganda Wildlife Authority Act, 2019, bestowing additional mandate to UWA.

This week, we are camped in Rwenzori utilizing the first planting season. we are engaging about 410 households to plant 455 hectares of land along the buffer of Rwenzori Mountains National Park under the 'Restoration for a Resilient Rwenzori' project funded by @hempelFoundation

It is with great sadness & heavy hearts that we learnt of the passing of Dr. Okurut Tom, the former Executive Director of National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) . He is an Icon in the conservation fraternity. We stand with family and friends during this trying moment. #FareTheeWell @PapaTom
