A day with fellow #FarmerClusters from the South learning about how Avon Valley Farmer Cluster Waders For Real have been successful in increasing lapwing productivity - habitat management & reducing predators pressure. Also Dr Swan spoke about similar The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust projects

Our Avon Valley redshank have almost all finished breeding and are heading off to their coastal summer grounds. Please keep a look out for colour ringed birds especially around the Hampshire coast, every sighting is hugely valuable to the project! #ornithology

It was a bit of a soggy start but it was a great day at open farm Sunday yesterday, we spoke to so many people about wader #conservation , predator management and #farming . The kids loved having a go at looking for lapwing in the hide! #LOFS23

Look at all those wader footprints! At least 2 pairs of lapwing and 2 pairs of redshank with chicks using this scrape, protected by an electric fence and with the removal of crows they have a pretty good chance at success! #conservation

And she’s back again for the 7th year running! Site faithful since fledging back in 2016.
