Awful incident yesterday involving South Shields FC supporters returning from watching their team. 17 hospitalised although BBC News reporting no fatalities.
Thoughts with all involved and here's wishing a full recovery to everyone.
All this talk about PL clubs desperately needing to increase ticket prices.
They don't.
Commercial/TV revenue enormous. They spend huge sums on transfers & wages - utterly frivolously in some cases. & they've paid agents £409.5 MILLION this season. Absurd theathletic.com/5410285/2024/0…
Top-flight football has a spending problem, not an income problem. Squeezing fans for every last penny makes little difference to a club's bottom line - matchday income is a small % of PL club revenue.

Strong letter from Newcastle United Supporters Trust on their concerns around the spiralling price of attending football, and the impact on the community and traditions of our clubs.
Price hikes and the axing of senior concessions at #Spurs are more examples of the greed sweeping through our game.
Wrote this in November &, sure enough, loads of clubs have put ticket prices up.
As Kieran Maguire said: “A lot of clubs were freezing prices & waiting for somebody else to break ranks. This is classic oligopoly market behaviour.'
Now they're all at it.
