The latest annual Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS) statistics, covering the period up to 2022/23 have been released today.

3) Rich was a true legend of waterbird conservation.

We celebrate his incredible legacy, and remember his dedicated work for nature and wildlife.

2) After joining WWT in 1993, Rich went on to lead the way in species recovery.

He managed the UK’s goose and swan monitoring programme, and worked with endangered species all over the world.

His advocacy and guidance helped to shape protections for wetlands globally.

This month, we were deeply saddened to learn that our colleague Rich Hearn had passed away.

Rich was an inspiring teammate, mentor and conservationist, and a passionate voice for wetlands.

He was hugely valued, and will be hugely missed.
