Come to Avoca on Sun 24 March to see Red Kites Ireland coming to roost at dusk. After a walk in Kilmagig Wood to see woodland birds, we return to the village centre to see the kites circle over before roosting above the valley.

Jason Monaghan, National Parks and Wildlife Service, delivered a masterclass in breeding wader management to BirdWatch Ireland Wicklow Branch of BirdWatch Ireland last night. He detailed the success achieved in fledging Lapwings, Redshanks, Shoveler and other waders at Cooldross (known to birders as Webb’s Field, Kilcoole).
