Music: whilst the whole band were great this morning a special shout out the soloists : Kirsty, Leo (first solo 👏) Jamie, Lewis, Toby, Dan, Hattie, Sam and of course Alex.

Music: if we may be immodest…. A fantastic performance today from the Jazz Band at the County Show. The usual Wrekin supporters posse in attendance (thank you!) and a host of new people watching who almost quite literally ‘blown away’. Hopefully some photos later! 👋

Our Lancaster debating series continued at lunchtime, today!
The motion debated was 'This house should be vegan', with Attingham against Boscobel and Clun facing Davenport, there was an impressive standard of debating on display.
There's some promising debating skills there! 👏

Yesterday evening, Cdt Sgt Millie had the honour of being appointed as a Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Shropshire for 2024-25 at a wonderful ceremony.
This is in recognition of her dedication, commitment and drive to everything she undertakes within the Wrekin College CCF 👏

Yesterday afternoon we welcomed back former Headmaster, Mr Tim Firth, for an invitational cricket match against our Wrekin 1st XI team 🏏
On this occasion Wrekin took the inaugural trophy, but great sportsmanship and fun was had by all!
It was lovely to see you again, Mr Firth!

Today we welcomed highly acknowledged Barrister, Mr. John Ryder KC, to deliver our last lecture of the term. It was incredibly interesting to hear about his experiences in Criminal Law. It was also a pleasure to welcome pupils from Newport Girls' High to our lecture.

Yesterday afternoon our U12 A team played in their County Cup match against Bridgnorth Endowed 🏏

Winning by eight wickets, Wrekin played some excellent cricket and showed great team spirit and camaraderie! Well done, everyone!

Sailing is just one of the many activities that our Year 8 pupils can take part in ⛵

It's a fantastic chance to learn a new skill, work as a team and sail the open water for an hour or so, especially in last week's beautiful weather! ☀️

Pupils from our Fourth Form embarked on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award, this weekend!
The weather was fantastic and they all learnt new skills as they worked on many parts of the D of E syllabus.

We are very proud to announce that Third Form pupil, Sydney, became British Jujitsu Champion on Sunday at the British Open in Manchester in the 60kg weight bracket!

After our much anticipated ice bucket challenge, the money raised went towards this lunchtime's silent disco! 🎶 Raising awareness of neurodiversity, the total raised from the challenge was just over £500! Thank you to the Children's Safeguarding Board for organising this!

Yesterday afternoon we hosted a fantastic afternoon of music where we invited budding musicians from Prestfelde School and The Old Hall School: Wrekin Old Hall Trust to perform a concert alongside our orchestra.

Everyone had a great time and it was a joy to hear you all play together!
