Frankie Montas is going for an MRI on shoulder. Said he’s optimistic that it’s not too bad. Felt something after game .

Still a few weeks to figure this out, but Montas doesn’t look like a playoff fit right now. Stranger things have happened.

I think Loaisiga is the eventual solution here, although it would be ideal if his K rate was more like last year.

Marwin swinging a hot bat makes me think he takes more LF time when Rizzo and Bader are both in lineup next week. Benintendi injury was such a huge blow.

Luis Severino on track to return to rotation Wednesday vs. Pittsburgh, 65-pitch range.

Earlier today, Scott Effross threw 20 pitches vs. live hitters, including Anthony Rizzo. “He looked good, too.”
Rizzo a possibility to be activated as early as Sunday.
Effross to pitch a rehab inning Sunday at Scranton, puts him in play for Tuesday activation at Yankee Stadium.
