Every month, the lawyers at Maternity Action deliver hands-on advice and support to destitute migrant women struggling with bills of £7,000 or more for NHS maternity care. It is a brilliant service. It is also outrageous that women need an immigration lawyer to sort healthcare.

We're all from somewhere. What really matters is where we are going as a society. Last night, at the 11th hour, hope won.

No planes took off. No families were ripped apart. No dreams were destroyed. But the fight's not over.

Just to say it’s incredibly important when reading reporting of the 🇷🇼 judgment to realise the courts have *NOT* decided the plan is lawful. They’ve just decided (*so far*) it’s generally ok for the HO to proceed with it unless & until it’s found unlawful. The fight continues.

APPEAL GRANTED

We have been granted permission to appeal against today’s ruling. Appeal to be heard in the Court of Appeal on Monday.

The High Court has denied an injunction seeking to stop next week's planned flight of asylum seekers to Rwanda. He says that each case should be considered on an individual basis and there is no need for an injunction.

Successful appeal this week for disabled man wrongly evicted from his s4 house by housing provider before his support appeal. Came back from hospital visit to find someone else moved into his room. Our legal volunteer got him off the streets before the hearing and won appeal.
