Because people tend to "forget" this: Russia permanently cut off gas supply in August 2022. This caused the energy crisis to peak. Nord Stream 1+2 were NOT transporting any gas when they were bombed in late September. The bombings had ZERO effect on gas supply.

.Claudia Major & I take stock of the war against 🇺🇦 & and come to a very gloomy outlook. We continue to strongly recommend a significant and long-term increase in aid to 🇺🇦. However, we have great doubts that Europe and the US are willing or able to do so.

This forces us to consider how a worst-case scenario can be prevented. How can Ukraine as a sovereign state emerge from the war as strong & secure as possible, even if it cannot fully restore its territorial integrity through military means?
